why GRAB mobility might be around for a long long time to come

$Grab Holdings(GRAB.US)$ was first designed to solve a problem. The problem where it is difficult to flag down a taxi when you need it. However, it disrupted the whole taxi industry and kind of caused the problem to worsen, as it is almost impossible to flag down a taxi now.
Think back to a time before GRAB, and look at the roads now, it is almost impossible to flag a taxi in Singapore now right? sometimes I wonder does Gen Z know that you can flag a taxi
This is great for GRAB as it created an environment where you have to use one of the apps in order to get a "taxi" now. That's why they are trying so hard to try and kill the competition and become the monopoly. It is a winner takes all market. That's why GRAB and their competitors are offering so much discount to attract customer but eventual everyone will stop as there is not much money left to burn. The winner will takes it all.
Will we revert to flagging down a taxi? probably not. Ask yourself, would you go and flag a taxi now, staying in the sun trying for maybe a hour or so? The disruption is here to stay until the next disruption happens.
