Calling Nvidia! Intel launches AI chip Gaudi2.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$ $Intel(INTC.US)$ Intel has launched Gaudi2, a chip focused on AI computing, to further enter the AI chip market currently dominated by Nvidia. Gaudi2 is said to be the second generation of Intel's Habana Labs AI processor, which is twice as fast as Habana Labs' previous chips. As of Tuesday's close, Intel rose more than 2% to $44.01.

AI chip startups have received huge investments in recent years as AI computing is one of the fastest growing areas in data centers.

In the field of AI, Intel also announced the launch of the "Apollo Project" with Accenture, which aims to make it easier to deploy AI in local, cloud or edge environments by providing enterprises with more than 30 open source AI solutions that are optimized for design. The first packages of the Apollo Project are expected to be released in the coming months.

But even so, it has been a tough challenge for Intel to capture this market share from Nvidia, as many AI researchers and enterprises are already accustomed to using Nvidia's software platform CUDA. so in addition to new chips for AI computing, Intel says the company is also focusing on software development.
