Mother’s Advice
Neither mom or dad were investors but there were some good common sense passed along - “If your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep will be your down fall.”. Whether it is your checking account or your investing account that still holds true.
The other advice I received is “It’s a bad wind that never changes.”. I can see this in some degree in the markets. The market may fall but change comes and it will rise. It’s only bad bad wind that never changes.
