Mother's Day: Reflect on mom's teaching as an investor!

Happy Mother's Day

My mum doesn't know anything about investing, in their opinion it's too risky and it's safest to put your money in the bank. Her idea of investing is different from ours because we were born in different backgrounds in different times.
Happy Mother's Day
But thank for setting me up with the idea of managing my money when I was young. I needed to spend my weekly money on plan.  She did not advocate that buying a lot of discounted items that were not very practical and She never spends blindly, she knows exactly what she needs before she buys it. She would pick good quality items within her budgets, even if they were a bit expensive.

I think this also affects my investments, some companies seem to drop a lot, but it is not necessarily a good company to buy the dip, I prefer to buy shares of a good company, even if the share price is slightly volatile.
Happy Mother's Day
I wish all mothers a happy Mother's Day!

  • Milk The Cow Milk The Cow: They maybe right ✅ & that's why I'm doing it at my own risk undefined (I knows my own limits & I do have a reason to do it.)
Hence, I never once recommended stocks investing to others as it's too complicated...undefined

  • ToastofGJ : The bank 😅😅😅
she is losing two-fold (at a minimum). Most currencies have central bankers who pull the levers of inflation at will and at precise times, to milk the underlying society (no, inflation is not an economic phenomenon, it is a forced hidden tax/theft). So, she is having her purchasing power taken from her and on purpose.  Second, govt, being the liars that they are, never include the most expensive and most frequent costs an individual/family has towards inflation calculations/predictions, which are going up more so than the advertised inflation rate, and thus represent another blow to her bank psychology as they drastically uptick her REAL inflation rate as she experiences her typical costs over time.  Read her the definition of Stockholm Syndrome: she protects her abusers/usurpers (central banking families).
