70911613 AwesomeNewbie: You want to see the Ex-dividend day. For example, this time the ex-dividend date is on June 2, which means that if you buy it on June 2, you will not receive a dividend. If you buy it before June 2, you must hold the stock until June 3, or you won't get a dividend.
70911613 AwesomeNewbie: The ex-date or ex-dividend date is the trading date on (and after) which the dividend is not owed to a new buyer of the stock. The ex-date is one business day before the date of record.
70911613 AwesomeNewbie: So you have to buy before June 2 and hold until the end of your holdings on June 3 before you can get dividends. If you buy on June 2nd, you won't receive dividends. I just made a mistake.
