Daily Poll: Is the market still overvalued?
Despite passing through the worst quarterly performance since the market crash in early-2020, some investors think the current market is still overvalued.
Furthermore, some believe this is just the beginning of the downward trend.
According to figures from Nasdaq, the PE ratio for the $S&P 500 Index(.SPX.US$ (using the trailing 12 months as reported earnings) has been at around 25 or above for over a year now – the only other times this level has been consistently breached was during the global financial crisis and during the dotcom bubble of the early-2000s.

And although the PE ratio has marginally cooled for the benchmark since the end of 2021, it continues to remain at historically elevated levels.
