FB: A Yahoo moment?
$Meta Platforms(FB.US$ is now facing its first real challenger in TikTok, disruptive privacy rules in digital advertising, and an explosion of Web3 startups and technologies, and the situation looks a lot like Yahoo $LY (ADR)(YAHOY.US$ !
The tightening of privacy rules in the advertising industry, the emergence of strong competitors, and shrinking user growth "all make it look like Meta is facing a potential 'Yahoo moment,'" said Keith Hwang, chief investment officer at Selcouth Capital Management.
Hwang said: "This impression is now lingering in the minds of investors, and each of these issues is a huge challenge in itself."
