$Aterian(ATER.US$ $100 squeezes are a thing of the past. Hedge funds and brokerages now use off market dark pool trades to satisfy orders. They can legally do this because retail doesn’t hold a position for very long. Thus, hedges can legally naked short because those shares will become available in 1-2weeks time. Until retail changes their approach to trading (quick in, quick out) - the naked shorting will continue and remain legal. It’s like an airline overbooking flights because they know people won’t show up. Same thing with short interest and shares. They can naked short because they know those shares will become available.
