The securities exchange will be shut on April 15, 2022 for Good Friday.
Furthermore, the security markets, except the bonds market, will stay open on Maundy Thursday-a huge change from 2020. Bond markets close early, at 2 p.m. Traders who participate in short-term option traders should be specially noticed.
Maundy Thursday is the day during Holy Week that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. Good Fridayis a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death.
In the United States, 10 states observe Good Friday as state holiday: Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, and Tennessee. It is an optional holiday in Texas.
The next incoming holiday closure would be Memorial Day on Monday, May 30.
