Thoughts on Full time trading
It could be a source of joy if you do your due diligence. I am considering it as a career in a few years when I have more market experience because studying alone is the 1st step. You need to be able to refer to good and bad experiences to refine skills over time and be a consistent winner. That is the only time full time trading is worth it.
Must-have knowledge
The most important thing for me is understanding market trends. This combined with proper valuation techniques and robust due diligence methods can set you up to be a consistent winner. Early recognition is the key to success and it comes with experience.
An excellent TA knowledge is essential to determine entry and exit but you do not have to know too much if you understand the market trend.
Risk management is my third must have so you can stay in business especially if you are full time.
Pros and Cons
It could help you achieve your dreams if you have the right strategy. Trading is also fun for someone who loves to learn. Just do not be emotional. Emotions can ruin and winning strategy.
If you don’t have proper risk management, you could suffer grave losses so that risk is always there.
Conditions to make a full time career.
My passive DCA investing has grown substantially to generate good returns while gaining valuable experience in understanding the market. This could take a few years but it is absolutely necessary to have this in place.
I would also want to achieve some retirement savings from a regular job to build a back up plan should success come slowly. I am sure I will succeed but the timing is what I am not sure of.
Also I need to be able to refine my skills to do by due diligence checks fast so I can make accurate decisions fast. I am still honing this skill and it may take some time

  • Talklili : Analyze the pros and cons. Part-time: There can be more security to reduce the risks caused by loss of return, but there are limitations in investment. Full-time: More energy investment may be accompanied by more benefits, but the risk is very high.
