Will the war end soon? What's your next move?

War, Ego, and Investment

I doubt the war will end soon. Putin made a huge mistake invading Ukraine and his ego will not allow him to admit it or fix it.
As a narcissistic psychopathic personality Putin will enlist every Russian citizen into the military and watch them die before he'd admit defeat.
He'll leave Ukraine empty of every man woman and child with every building destroyed because he'd rather rule over ruins than admit defeat.
What does this mean for investors? That seems like a crass question with men women and children dying or losing their homes.
From the safety of my den in the US I'll cast aside their struggles to live and focus on financials.
BUY THE DIPS IF YOU HAVE THE CASH!
Stay away from gas and oil, usage is dropping (by over 1 M barrels last week alone).
Of course defense companies may be a good investment now if the war continues and the US/NATO gets involved.
Personally, I'm saving up for the $Amazon(AMZN.US)$ stock split in June.
That's the only sure thing I see. Meanwhile, I'm investing some of my investment cash into Ukrainian refugees. These people deserve our support more that some bloated companies need my investment.

  • 耐心等待2024 : The gains from interest rate hikes in the United States will be weakened by the continuation of the war and will further affect the hegemony of the dollar. When the EU trades energy and crops in rubles, countries from other regions will join in, such as big buyers such as the Middle East, North Africa and India. Liquefied natural gas in the United States is too expensive and expensive, and it is only a temporary substitute for the rest of the world, and truly cheap energy products can only be produced on Europe, Asia and Africa, all in order to weaken the supremacy of the United States as a maritime power.

  • Mama CassOP 耐心等待2024: I agree with you on energy costs. I can only speculate that higher gas prices may drive demand for alternative fueled cars and people will travel less with high gas prices thus further reducing the number of barrels consumed monthly.

  • 耐心等待2024 : You know what, i am a green energy supporter. But i realize that the so-called green/zero emission energy is probably a scam. i think human wouldn’t be able to achieve Carbon neutrality in 30 years. And because of this crisis, we will just invest in fossil energy as much as we invest in green energy. As long as the oil is  affordable and receivable, it is much more reliable than other types of energy for many reasons.

  • Mama CassOP 耐心等待2024: True. Unfortunately the electric cars still run on energy produced by fossil fuels!
Until a cheaper more reliable energy source is available we're stuck with fossil fuels - even for green energy vehicles.
Gas by me is about $4.12/gallon right now. What's it like for you?

  • 耐心等待2024 : drive less. this pandemic changes everything. my boss is no longer renting any desk from the local incubator where we used to work together. and apparently he has no plan immediately to re-open any office anytime soon. my point is even if the pandemic is over and it will eventually be over, the cost of having employees back to the office will be added to the companies’ expense. many colleagues told me that they have no plan to get back to the office because they feel that they are more productive at home. this is just my industry. i think the government should encourage public transit and develop infrastructure as much as they can which they haven’t done in the past 20 years. Ride-sharing is another option that’s why i invest in Uber and Didi. However they didn’t give me what i expected. I parked my car in the garage but still have to pay $100CAD in order to keep my policy running just in case i need to drive them.

  • Talklili : The impact of war is unprecedented, the premise of investment is to ensure self-survival.

  • Talklili : Things are looking great for tech and marijuana stocks today.

  • Mama CassOP Talklili: They sure are! I'm hoping every state in the US approves marijuana use. Not a user myself, but an investor!

  • Thoth Industries : The war will last as long as thempoliticians need it to.  It is amazing to me how the loudest people with the strongest opinions actually know the least about what is going on. Some of you seriously need to look into the Dunning-Kruger Effect. You're showing textbook definitions of it.

  • Revelation 6 Thoth Industries: Is that all you know how to say you stupid fuck? You repeat one thing! Monkeys can do that. Idiot.
