After spending $4.5 billion on $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$ last week, Warren Buffett didn't stop, adding another $1.5 billion this week to Berkshire's 27.1 million shares of $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$.

$Berkshire Hathaway-A(BRK.A.US)$ bought the shares for between $51.03 and $58.58 on March 9, March 10 and March 11, with a weighted average price of about $56.60, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission late on Friday.

Including the 83.86 million shares it holds through warrants, Berkshire's total stake in $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$ is about 20 percent, worth nearly $6.9 billion at Friday's closing price of $57.95.

The warrants had a strike price of $59.624, If $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$'s share price rises again, $Berkshire Hathaway-A(BRK.A.US)$ can buy the stock at a discount to the market price, generating an immediate paper profit that increases as the share price rises.

$Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US)$'s shares are up above 90% so far this year as oil prices soar.
