If the world is not buying oil, it is just penalizing themselves as Russia doesn’t have deficiency in oil, which in turn pushes up the prices of oil. True they will have less revenue, but if they are self sufficient, they can continue to be disconnected for a long time without suffering

But if they want to be self sufficient then they will not grow their economy, technology, etc. They do rely on some foreign technologies to operate on a high level like they have been before the sanctions were put in place. Their economy will stagnate like Venezuela. All they could do was sell oil for dirt cheap because their currency was crap. And their country didn’t have any significant growth for a very long time

SpyderCallOP gghk: Just look back in history. Venezuela was an oil nation. They F’ed up then half the developed world put sanctions on them for F’ing up. It was similar to the sanctions put on Russia. And now look at Venezuela. They aren’t doing to hot my brotha. Even still they are doing terrible. They receive absolutely no foreign investment unless its involved in their extremely cheap oil because their country is going through stagflation for several years and their currency is still worth crap. This has lasted for years.
I definitely don’t think Russia will be sanctioned for as long as Venezuela. They are to valuable to the world economy. But it could last months. Maybe till the end of the year. Hopefully ends sooner. But for now Russia is on their own and way worse off than they were before. Their money is worth nothing. Like damn near a penny.
