Russian Ukraine View & How It Affect Us

Firstly, I'm not that sure about the story of how the conflict all begin (history, lazy read... only read a little)
Anyone with a clear idea what's going on, care to explain to me in a simple-short way that even idiot can understand, on the comment below. (Those in Russian & Ukraine, ur view?)
My understanding:
pro-Russian president (UKRAINE corruption?) > adding 🛢  to 🔥 > Putin moved to strike a "claimed" so Eastern of Ukraine (Donbas - which killed 14,000 ppl but Russia denied they are involved) > add more 🛢 to 🔥? > current situation

My view :
Some claimed that it's a smoke bomb & WS is just making thing up to increase the tension for their own personal gain.
I do agreed with their point of view as war is totally undesirable. It's a lost for both parties. The longer the war go on, the more the damage cause to the economic... eventually it's their own citizen that suffers. (To me, it seem like just a threat that's all)

So, how this affect us, the investor?
1. US market will likely be greatly affected & stock market may crash greatly
2. Looking at it in other way, isn't it great opportunities for more favourable stock for us to load up at cheaper price? (Hope u guys still got some spare )
