A small talk on love-hate relationship with stocks

Hello Mooers, welcome back!

In today small talk, we will be discussing about the love-hate relationship with stocks.

Have you came across a time when you fall in love with a particular stock, which later drop into the sink soon after you bought it? Also, have you come across a time when you hate this particular stock, which later fly to the moon soon after you sell it at a loss?

Does that sound very familiar? Yes?

Just like in one of my post ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Phenomenal Apple, Iron Condor’, which one of the most funniest Mooers in $Futu Holdings Ltd(FUTU.US)$ MooMoo: ‘Up Lorry Together’, wrote:

Everyone made mistakes, if you really suay buy what lose what, then reverse your strategy. If you want to buy, hit short. If you want to short, hit buy. Maybe if you lose 70% of the time will become win 70% of the time. Not easy to cheat yourself to get the right results, as what you think is right might be wrong. Worst is you might go crazy trying to master this art.

Investors who love and bought $Eastman Kodak(KODK.US)$ stock long time ago, would never know that Kodak, which was once the largest film company, got dethroned when its film business was eclipsed by digital photography companies such as $Canon(CAJ.US)$.

Also, investors who love and bought Motorola stock long time ago, would also never know that Motorola, which was once the largest mobile phone manufacturer, got dethroned when its business was eclipsed by smartphones companies such as $Apple(AAPL.US)$. The name Motorola was then defuncted on 4 Jan 2011, which lead to it being split into two: Motorola Mobility and $Motorola Solutions(MSI.US)$.

Maybe we can have a vote on which side are you with? Old-school stocks (e.g. $Eastman Kodak(KODK.US)$ , $Motorola Solutions(MSI.US)$ ) or New-school stocks (e.g. $Canon(CAJ.US)$ , $Apple(AAPL.US)$ )
Thus, we should remember that stocks are meant to be trade, either buy or sell, after doing our fundamental and technical analysis. This also includes reading up financial news, on hourly basis if you are a trader, or daily (or weekly) basis if you are an investor. Lastly, don’t forget that our luck play a role too!

Lastly, we should be ready to pull ourselves up and learn how to live life to the fullest by not diving too deep into the stock market (and that includes other asset markets such as cryptocurrencies).

Let’s review the price trend for the two pairs of stocks ( $Eastman Kodak(KODK.US)$ vs $Canon(CAJ.US)$ , $Motorola Solutions(MSI.US)$ vs $Apple(AAPL.US)$ ) before we end this small talk.
