  • HopeAlways :

  • J-Zil : I have so much hope for the tech stocks undefined

  • HopeAlways : High inflation has hit the U.S stock market badly. When the prices of goods and services increase rapidly, businesses and consumers are normally not able to buy as much with their disposable income. Thus, high inflation will typically slow growth and encourages the Fed to tighten its monetary policy. With a hawish Fed, the expectation is that the overall economic growth will slow down with higher interest rates which make access to very cheap capital becoming scarcer.

  • jasonleett HopeAlways: Prepare for the worst... Hope for the best!

  • jasonleett HopeAlways: An astute investor will keep abreast of inflation signs and adjust his investments accordingly... And learn when is a good time not to get involved...

  • Syuee : Rising concerns over surging Omicron cases have subdued investor sentiment, while geopolitical worries that Russia is on the brink of invading Ukraine has also added to the unease.

However, recent weakness has been driven by concerns over rising inflation and the consequent rate tightening that will follow.

Markets are bracing for rate lift-off by the Federal Reserve. Expectations are for the US central bank to raise interest rates in March for the first time in more than three years and follow through with a number four rate rises in 2022.

Markets will hear more about the intentions of Fed officials again very soon. It will be interesting to see whether they will bend towards calming down rate hike plans, given the rise of Omicron and recent market volatility.

  • HopeAlways Syuee: The spread of new Covid-19 variants will continue to be one of the most glaring concerns for the stock market.undefined

  • Dadacai :

  • 101767718 HopeAlways: Indeed, inflation is a serious issue for the stock market.

  • 101767718 HopeAlways: The coronavirus threat and its new variants will continue to be a threat to Wall Street.
