$Palantir(PLTR.US$ I am working in logistics. we handle a lot of imports for various US companies. Even though US-China relationship has being tight ever since trump admin. US companies still orders a ton of goods from China, Apple, HP, Amazon, FB, you name it. For the past a couple of years, every time there is mass hysteria of COVID spreading in China. Chinese government shutdown ports, understaff the airport worker, making logistic bottleneck far worse than it should be. US companies in turn order more stuff to ”position themselves well in this logistics nightmare”. however these actions put further stress on the supply chain. “ inflation pressure “ are created out of these factors coupling together. This is inevitable. For every company’s supply chain manager, ordering a lot shit benefit themselves far more than doing nothing, even though in the long run their hysteria action might cost their company a lot more money. same situation apply to feds. Hawkish tone right now, benefit their authority far more the stay with transitory inflation path. We saw some signs of tide turning. Walgreen ordered 30k+ ctns of spring and summer shoes and clothes through us. And they would rather to pay us $$$ to store it than take delivery. These are some cheap plastics sandles that you smell the stink 50 yards away. It wont cost more than $2 to make. Walgreen pay air cargo freight for it and wont take delivery for now. Maybe their warhouses already jam packed. These might suggest US companies already ordered too much shit. Cathy’s prediction on American overstocking will be true afterall. Supply chain stress will become inventories overpiling. Human are always make stupid decisions based most recent history. What we need is a Foundry powered supply Chain software to make data drive decision for all comapnies.
