Picking the right stock

I would say investing is like "choosing the right school (company) for my kids (capital) to go to", looking at the school (company) foundation/history, what the school (company) excel in, the school (company) environment/vision, etc. Selecting a good school (company), reviewing their performances, annual reports, growth, dividend payout, vision.
It is definitely an investment to me. As a responsible parent (investor), am not sending my kids (capital) to any school (company) without checking the details. A place where kids can grow and nurture without much worry. I guess no parents would want to gamble on that aspect.
