Improving your trading mindset over time
When I first dipped a toe into trading a couple years ago I started with dividend investing. New investors who don’t understand the psychology of money get that instant satisfaction of passive income. This sets the hook and motivates them to research and learn more. Eventually after researching a while, ETF/Index funds get discovered and a passive investing strategy is adopted. Switching to a passive investing strategy is tough mentally but if you just hold the dividend stocks and transition to only buying a total market or S&P 500 ETF/Index like VTI/VTSAX or VOO its makes the switch easier.
