Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt has successfully produced its first lithium-ion battery at its Ett Gigafactory in northern Sweden, the company announced on its website on December 29. The battery rolled off the production line on December 28, with commercial deliveries scheduled to begin in 2022. Most of the world's electric car batteries are currently made in Asia and the United States.
