The Omicron variant rages during the second Christmas holiday under the epidemic, and thousands of flights around the world have been cancelled
The FlightAware website stated that global airlines cancelled more than 4,500 Christmas weekend flights because the Omicron variant caused a surge in new crown cases and added difficulties to travelers. The website shows that on Friday Christmas Eve, at least 2,401 flights around the world were cancelled, and this day is usually the peak travel period. There are still 1,779 Christmas-day flights canceled worldwide, and American airlines canceled more than 1,000 flights on Sunday.
