frankly speaking, with such low interest rate (almost zero...) of keeping spare cash in bank, it would be more sensible to pick a blue chip stock with good fundamental (positive cash flow, low debt, good dividends...) or reits to park your spare cash in. You will enjoy periodic diviends payout and capital appreciation over time.
