Sticking to long-term investment

I used to trade with the hope to gain big in the shortest time, thus prefer short term investment. However, after a period that I noticed there are actually more benefits for long-term investment. I no longer require to monitor my trade closely and by using dollar averaging and other tactics, I could safely select some good companies with better returns. Thus I have changed to longer term investment and save much time to do research and technical analysis to select more stocks for my investment profolio.
