The overall problem with T $AT&T(T.US)$ is there is very little growth projected. Sure you're going to get a high dividend, but even a 7% dividend isn't making up for the opportunity cost of owning SPY $SPDR S&P 500 ETF(SPY.US)$ most years. There will be limited times in the market where we're seeing a broad regression, but stocks that aren't growing AT ALL are going to underperform long term.

If you time the bottom absolutely perfectly, you could maybe see some upside stock movement plus the dividend, but that 6 month chart is terrible.
