Co-Wise: How did you start short-term trading?

swing trade

I just started trading this October on Robinhood and as I started learning things about the market I thought I would take on long term investment with dividend stocks. once I started researching more about them I found something. That if you can find a high dividend stock with a high growth and of course good analysis and news behind it. You can buy in on those dips all the time. once they get to announcing that next dividend it starts to climb. If you can find companies that are having bumper years with special dividends being released even more volatility applies to that stock for those payouts. of course as I said I am very new and have not had much time to develop my strategy. I would recommend finding the candlestick bible. I have not had a chance to dig into it to much as I have a full-time job and a 2 yr. old. The ability to read the charts is going to be a must in doing your own analysis. I still cross reference many different analysis platforms for their opinions on a stock as well before pulling the trigger. So of course this leaves you open to either continue building your position for something you maybe know is coming for the company soon or your target exit price. Once they climb and you sell just wait for them to get that next big dividend payout announced. I highly recommend tipranks for the smart portfolio. They are tied together with the nasdaq website which once you enter in your shares and prices you got in at and get it all set up you can have an analysis with beta risk rating added to it for your portfolio. They will also list upcoming dividend dates for each of your stocks on that page along with current risk warnings for them.
