Twitter, online video platform Vimeo and three other companies said that the EU’s proposed rules for technology companies should ensure that they are subject to supervision in the EU countries where they are headquartered. Technology companies are concerned that European countries seeking to regulate may try to modify the "country of origin" principle in the draft Digital Services Act (DSA). According to this principle, Ireland regulates Twitter, Apple, Alphabet’s Google and Facebook because these companies’ European headquarters are in Ireland; Amazon is regulated by Luxembourg
