Impersonation

Also, there is a high possibility that there is a syndicate impersonating Beckie and the other guys to gain trust in the social media channels like telegram and WhatsApp.

(Beckie has a YouTube channel since 2017 and has been saying that she does not recommend stocks. Beckie is residing in Canada. The impersonators have commonly used +60 numbers from Malaysia.

Ernest P. Chan stated in his twitter @chanep that there is someone pretending to be him giving stock tips in telegram.)

  • Chew Boon Cheong : What are the benefits of impersonators?

  • seelookthink : They bought at low, gather people to buy and push the price high. Then they can sell at high to earn…? Maybe…

  • 1146286738OP : They impersonate investment content creators so that if people google these identities, they will find that these content creators are credible and can be trusted. These syndicates impersonate them to gain the victims' trust. So that the victim will follow their instructions to buy at the high prices. Next, they dump their stocks to these victims. Notice that extra large orders to sell have been executed at least on 8 and 9 Dec while small orders to buy them were also executed.

  • Guich : Any idea on how to verify if she is the real Beckie? I tried calling her once, not too late at night, not picked up, but replied she was tired and needed rest.

  • 1146286738OP : The way to verify any identity is to find the original contact details of the person in question. If it is Beckie, you should contact her with details provided from the media platform she is using. In Beckie's case, it should be YouTube. You should be able to find the content creators email address at the 'About' section of the creator's channel.
