I just want to say to any newer investors, don't lose hope.
Especially if you have bought recently and are panicked - learn from your mistakes and work on hedging your portfolio. My first year I ended up down around 20% and nearly lost heart but I just kept steadily investing.
In Jan I will have been investing 6 years - I came from a working class family and frankly the future can look awful for us, the generations before us really fucked up our futures. The stock market has made me comfortably middle class when combined with my job income and I believe it is the only way out of the economic bullshittery affecting gen z and onwards.
