Jan CPI rose 6.4% vs. 6.2% estimates
$S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$Stocks have historically, not been so great either. Real assets, like farmland and real estate have been better.
I believe equities are the best asset class to own throughout a lifetime.
In times of inflation, hard assets are better. Hard assets that pay dividends are even better (stocks of companies that own hard assets that earn income). I bought AMT about 15 years ago (but unfortunately did not add to my position along the way until about a year ago with DRIP).
Guys what are your thoughts on$Two Harbors Investment (TWO.US)$,$BXP Inc (BXP.US)$,$W.P. Carey Inc (WPC.US)$,$BHP Group PLC (BBL.US)$,$Rio Tinto (RIO.US)$,$Southern Copper (SCCO.US)$, and maybe some black gold like$Chevron (CVX.US)$and$Exxon Mobil (XOM.US)$?
