I don’t see the problem for $Apple(AAPL.US)$ in opening the store. Just as in real stores they could identify Apple blessed apps and charge accordingly. Do we believe Apple customers are any less able to make a trade off between quality and price than a $Costco(COST.US)$ or $Walmart(WMT.US)$ customer is? I think you are insulting the intelligence of Apple customers by claiming they need to be protected from the big bad world.
