It is becoming quite a list: $Hewlett Packard Enterprise(HPE.US)$, $Oracle(ORCL.US)$, $Tesla(TSLA.US)$, $Palantir(PLTR.US)$ ... Arguably, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard are the founding fathers of Silicon Valley.
As to the growth story and trajectory with PLTR, I'm content to wait, sitting on my shares and weathering the vagaries of quarterly market cycles. The trend is my friend.

  • Old Capital : HPE is the old Compaq that was headquartered in Houston before HP bought it. HPQ, which was the old HP is still in CA. Oracle is still in Thousand Oaks, CA, but the HQ is now in Austin, and the CEO is in Hawaii. TSLA moved because automotive design and manufacturing engineers don't make as much as IT and CS people. Easier to recruit to Texas. PLTR is eventually going to be valued like a government services contractor. 50% of the business is the US Government.

  • bulibaba Old Capital: HPE moved its HQ from Paulo Alto to Houston, cite of the old Compaq HQ that they bought. HPQ remains in PA, but for how long remains to be seen.

  • Space X plus bulibaba: You are mistaken. HPQ bought Compaq in 2013. The name was retired. Compaq had its HQ in Texas and that was moved to Palo Alto but much of the business remained inTexas. Much of HPE is consulting and that was the old Compaq through their services business. HPE just returned to Texas. HPQ will likely remain in CA.

  • mins counting Old Capital: I thought HPE spun off consulting into Perspecta, subsequently acquired by DXC?

  • Ahh_gee_Joey mins counting: From wikipedia - Perspecta was formed in 2018 from the merger of DXC Technology's U.S. Public Sector spin-off with Vencore, Inc. and KeyPoint Government Solutions.

  • BeautyWolf Ahh_gee_Joey: It was HPES spun out to Vencore.
