$Alibaba(BABA.US$ This doesn't make sense. A $78k fine is nothing. There's probably holders of these stocks that lost more than that on their stock holdings today and would have been happy to pay off the fine themselves on the companies' behalf instead.

HelloMark : That was my thought but was that per violation? IN any case, it's symbolic of the microscope Chinese Internet giants are under and the sector is, not investable, or at least bathed in uncertainty. I decided a few months ago to plunk money instead into MELI, which has so far yo-yo-ed around and left me slightly down . But at least it is not under the thumb of a oligarchic leader and politburo.
