We have following pure EV plays Tesla $Tesla(TSLA.US)$ , Fisker $Fisker(FSR.US)$ , Workhorse, Rivian $Rivian Automotive(RIVN.US)$ , Lucid $Lucid Group(LCID.US)$ just to name a few. Globally speaking there are many more. Something has to give which means most of them will not survive.
Maybe someone like Rivian will succeed only because of Amazon backing or Amazon may just take them over completely at one point. The well established car makers already have a major problem to remain independent and mergers, acquisitions will continue hence these EV start ups will eventually do the same. Who will survive? Tesla likely but all the others not so much or at least not in the form of independent companies
