Class A Preferred Stock(MMTLP.US$ this is a dividend placeholder (what gives you a right to receive the dividend due by 12/31) that market makers have made an OTC stock to guage the possible dividend range + attempt to, just like any other stocks, scare you in to selling your placeholders. You sell, you don't get the payout.
The odds of it being under $2 with the current price of oil is slim. MMs want your divis. You shouldn't be paying this price any mind as it does not reflect the price of the dividend but how much people are paying FOR that right to the dividend. It's like a blind lottery. You buy up a bunch of these not knowing the final value, so you just try to load up as cheap as you can.
Only select brokers like Shwab will let you buy this placeholder. Most conventional brokers do not offer this, including MooMoo.
