Linsr73 : Shorters can hold the borrowed share as long as they want as long they can cover their interest and don’t get margin call. So even if you see them return today. Is just closing position. Next day market open they will come back to short if selling pressure is high. Day to day trading is different. Some day they do short, some day they play long. Once you identify the market trend after open, you just follow the trend and off load your position.
