Why did you start trading?

A Pastime or an Empowerment?

People started trading for different reasons. While some enjoy the thrills of uncertainties, the joy of a sudden fortune, others may be looking for a challenge. I started investing in storks last year when Covid 19 pandemic ravaged world wide. Being “locked down” and feeling bored, I was initiated to online trading. Initially, I was skeptical because basically, I felt that trading was a form of gambling. I detest gambling. My view has changed over time. It is gambling if you are just listening to others’ opinions without analysing the market’s situation for yourself.
As a newbie, I realise that I have plenty to learn
in order not to lose my “pot of gold”. It is a process based on one’s personal growth and mindset. Along with this worthy principle, I gradually learn to become a more versatile player. I am now able to navigate comfortablely and smoothly on the trading platform based on strict adherence to the following golden rules:
1) I cannot afford to be lazy and indulge myself in the comfort zone of “monkeys see, monkeys do” attitude. Therefore, I have to acquire more knowledge by extensive reading up of news and researching of the trading markets.
2) I have to control my own emotions, and not take risks based on my own whims and fancies or even worse still by Greed. I learn to be humble too because I cannot be a winner all the time. What is more important is, I learn to be wiser after a wrong decision in trading is made.
3) I have to identify an effective trading strategy and stick on to it, in order to have a better “Win-Win” situation.
Thankfully, Buffett’s famous analogy of “investing in what you know”, has helped me through many crisis. I grow to favour those fundamentally strong companies like

$Amazon (AMZN.US)$
$Apple (AAPL.US)$
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$
$Meta Platforms (FB.US)$
By now my motive for trading is not for the simple reason of “killing time”. I am now. “hooked” on to the Moomoo’s trading platform. It is now a game to challenge my mind, to employ intuitive skills to determine shrew and logical decisions. Hopefully, by trading I can aim for better monetary income too. It is definitely Empowerment! if I can mastermind my trading strategies well.

$Bank of America (BAC.US)$
$Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$
$Apple (AAPL.US)$
