102355763 : HSI is green today. May rise a bit in the opening, after so many days of red, then drop again. Today is Friday, profit-taking day coz any negative news such as clampdown will send its price plunging again on Monday

Mike Hunt : . If you look at the open interest on calls and puts expiring today 9/17, the deep in the money options (which are typically institutional positions) are puts. Almost no deep ITM calls. So along with the hedge funds making more money if price drops today, you have to weigh that with if that price drop will kill just in the money calls. Retail tends to buy out of the money, or just barely in the money options. And if you consider that the same hedge funds sell those options to retail, you look at how many of what options Are killed by movement one way or another. So them owning deep ITM puts would suggest they will push price down. However, that will put more puts ITM than calls OTM. So the directions contradict each other. Hedge funds will figure out if what they gain in their puts on a price drop is worth paying for the just OTM puts they will have to pay for and what their savings is on calls killed with the price drop. I’m calling 93 EOD
