- $Apple(AAPL.US)$is seeing huge demand for iPhones in China, ahead of the expected launch of a newer version sometime next month. Ipone shipments in China in July were up 79% on a year-over-year basis, estimates by Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty. The jump in July numbers far outpaced China’s own handset vendors, which saw just a 27% increase over the same period.
- $AMC Entertainment(AMC.US)$CEO announcing his intention to sell shares. Redditers have successfully driven up the share price of AMC stock by over 1,500% in 2021. Meanwhile, the fundamental prospects of the company remain poor. Therefore, it was no surprise to seeCEO Adam Aron announcehe would begin selling some of his AMC stock later this year.
- $Palantir(PLTR.US)$has been trending higher since the company reported better-than-expected financial results last week. Morgan Stanley and RBC Capital raised price targets on the stock following the company's financial results. Cathie Wood has been aggressively buying shares of Palantir for all of her exchange traded funds over the last week or so.
- $Tesla(TSLA.US)$said on Thursday it will join hands with Japanese companies to build an energy storage facility using its rechargeable battery in Hokkaido in northern Japan to help stabilise the power system in the wake of rising renewable energy use.
-WCCF Tech reported $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD.US)$will become the $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US)$largest customer and there is a rumor TSMC may provide the chips needed for the $Apple(AAPL.US)$electric vehicle. Immediately following the report AMD shot up over 1% higher before, giving all the gains back and trading toward its daily low.

  • Sarcasmoblaster : The chart is labeled "Trending Stocks" and the lead-in says "the hottest stocks" and "most active stocks".  What does this mean?  Is the chart showing which stocks have the most mentions?  Or the most reported trades? Or is it the highest number of positive stories / comments?  Something else?  Does "trending" mean these are the stocks with the biggest increase of whatever you're measuring since the prior day or is it just the total for the current day (if it's just the current day then it's not actually a trend at all).  Needs work.
