Effort-saving or risk-taking? The autopilot system.
Electric vehicle maker $NIO Inc(NIO.US$ tumbled as much as 7% on Monday on news that its autopilot system was involved in a fatal crash in China.
The car is equipped with several autonomous driving features, some of which are powered by tech from $Intel(INTC.US$ and $NVIDIA(NVDA.US$ . Intel was flat on the news, though Nvidia dipped almost 3% amid a broader market decline. The full circumstances of the crash weren't immediately clear. Nio says it is cooperating with an investigation into the death.

On the other side, the U.S. government has opened a formal investigation into $Tesla(TSLA.US$ Autopilot partially automated driving system after a series of collisions with parked emergency vehicles. Its stock collapsed over 4% in early trading on Monday because of the news.

Ray2021 : Autopilot is still a young technology and may not be suitable to use in remote rural area whereby there's no or limited data on the road conditions. Well, gotta see the investigation results.
This may be a good bargain hunting opportunity for those who are bullish on the company.
