you will only get dividend when you are still holding the stock by ex-dividend date. Means you can enter anytime before the ex-dividend date. OCBC should announce the ex-dividend date and dividend payout date next week. Do not confuse both dates, what's important is the ex-dividend date which means expiry dividend date.

People are having high hopes that dividend payout will be good hence the buying frenzy. My thoughts are what if it's not as good as previous year (b4 covid)... should I risk a high buying price now for something not confirmed? Previous payout is 0.159 (capped at 60% due to MAS restriction). You do the math, and should have a rough guide the highest bid you can enter to be on the winning side. Personally for me, I will wait for Mon and Tue, if price still so high, I'll pass on buying additional.
