Or buy it when it is higher than when you sold? The thing is we can't time the market all the time. If you fundamentally believe what the company does is right, you won't be afraid of it dipping in stock price because you truly believe that the value of the company will increase over time. But then again, if you are skeptical about the company since the start, why invest in it at the first place?" I tried shorting on many occasions too but I think the cons really outweighed the pros (it is mentally tortuous). So in the end I just forget about shorting and let the stock grows in the long run. I'm much happier now :)
