GameStop: Should We FOMO?
Views 22K Contents 68

GME hit 500, does that mean other shorted stock can also reach 500?!

$GameStop(GME.US)$ hit 500 and will very likely shoot well over 500 because:
1) there is a huge and broad retail buying in, and many not selling at current prices - FOMO effect
2) float is small (various factors, like Cohen bought large amount of shares to be on the GME board, so cannot sell etc), deduct #1 and means availability of shares becomes even less.
3) 140% short interest of available float, means with #1 & #2 happening, a short squeeze interest is an IF, it's a WHEN.

They currently all have some degree of #1 (not as much as GME), and perhaps #2 situation might be similar (but still not as small a float amount compared to GME).
They also all being shorted, and do correct me if I'm mistaken, but none of them have short interest of over 100%.

#1 & #2 obviously helps boost up price, but a short squeeze at #3 is can FORCE shorters to buy back at a really high price.

So unless #1, #2 & #3 are all lined up, buying these other stocks pushing for 500 much less likely. Too far away, and shorters are not overly shorted so they can get out relatively easily, meaning no short squeeze.

Think GME say at 500 is already too high, too risky for just small gains?
No, if buying at 500 and then shorters come begging you for your share at almost any price because no one is selling? That's can be a 5,000+ price. That's not small gains now is it?

TLDR: If you want a BIG score, only GME has all the right conditions for it to happen.

The above is not financial advice, just my own research and thoughts. I recommend you do your own DD (google VW short squeeze to read and understand a real life example of how and why a short squeeze happened).
