As one of the major financial centers in the world, Singapore has an attractive environment for investors to get rich. Based on the estimates of GlobalData, Singapore's wealthy population reached an all time high, growing 3.4% in 2021. Their data also shows that adults with more than $50,000 in liquidity assets make up 23.2% of Singapore's population. With the economic recovery and positive performance of equities, the wealth growth of the local population is expected to speed up in the following years. Wealthy People in Singapore?

I think the definition of Wealthy People is controversial. Why is the sum of $50k from a global reference be defined as wealthy? If the sum of $50k is used as a benchmark, I would think that there are surely more than 23% of the population are considered Wealthy or rather I would think a rather high number perhaps 80% or more. If one considers owing HDB housing, that would be easily $200k which most people will at least have, not to mention those that owns a private p...

Cost of living is high

I recently dined at a mid price restaurant. Veggie dishes cost $20+ while meat dishes cost $30+ onwards. Only way to make $50k last is to cook own meals at home, take public transport and stay in public housing. Monthly expenses will accumulate once one own a car, stay in private condo, dine in restaurants. To really make $50k vanish, all one got to do is to woo a Singaporean girl  (wine, dine, entertainment, hotel room etc) 💸.

I feel a lot of these in the 1/4 are probably asset rich. Singaporeans register for a HDB when they get married. a HDB in the market now cost 1 million. so there you have it, a millionaire. but whether or not this millionaire has spare cash for other things, we don't know.

Why is Singapore’s Grab different from ride-hailing giants Uber, Lyft and Didi?

The region’s population is more than 670 million people, of which six out of 10 are unbanked or underbanked.
Digital services are still nascent in much of the region, with penetration rates for online food delivery services about half of what they were in China last year. Ride-hailing is even less common, at about 3 per cent of the market in Southeast Asia versus 15 per cent in China.
Online food delivery is expect...
Why is Singapore’s Grab different from ride-hailing giants Uber, Lyft and Didi?
$Sea(SE.US)$ imo. as most stocks goes down, a lot of people will feel less rich than they were 2-5 months ago, so spending will be slowing down and inflation will be in check / lower. by March, the Fed will raise just a little or maybe not raising rates at all.
