After conducting a fundamental analysis of a company, i would always top it off with a few TA to determine my entry price. Some indicators i look at are RSI, MACD, BB.
i would also identify bull/ bear traps before to make sure the price i enter is reasonable.

I find this information useful to limit the amount "emotional influence" that can sometimes get in the way of timing the market correctly.

technical indicators are the most useful to me, but personally i stick to longer-term positions. i watch things for a while before jumping in, and even then i start small. i try to stick to dollar cost averaging, buy a dip if i can, and have a clear exit strategy in mind that will lock in profits and minimize losses if things take a turn.

I find it amusing when I hear the frequently non-traders often repeated mantra, "Time in the market is more important than timing the market." Blindly adhering to this dogma in the way of incoming rampaging train (market) is a sure path to swift financial ruin. In the realm of day trading, it is even more important.

2uEaAZ5u1B Jakkie_bo: I couldn't agree more! I've learned the hard way that it's not just about buying low and selling high, but also about knowing when to take profits and cut losses.
I remember holding onto a stock for too long, hoping it would bounce back, only to see it drop even further. That experience taught me the importance of having an exit plan and sticking to it.
Dave Schulz : I like the RSI to try and capture big moves in the morning after open. Beyond that time the RSI can often be a head fake, or non-indicative of a true move or timing of same. Using it in conjunction with greater time frames and some other indicator to confirm usually gives you a better shot at capturing most if a bigger morning move.
