On September 26th, local time, the strike by the United Auto Workers (UAW) against Detroit's three major automakers enters its 12th day, and the strike wave continues to expand.
UAW President Shawn Fain said that negotiations with Ford have made some progress and an agreement may be reached; however, talks with General Motors and Stellantis have stalled, prompting the union to take further action and expand the scope of the strike. It is estimated that if the UAW goes on a full strike, the US economy will face losses of about $500 million per day.
According to Barron's, multiple factors including the auto worker strike, government shutdown risk, inflation, and oil prices will cast a shadow over the US economic development in the fourth quarter. Goldman Sachs predicts that US GDP in the fourth quarter will fall from the expected 3.1% in Q3 to 1.3%.

Mooers would love to learn from your opinions on this:
        ● When will the strike possibly end?
        ● Do you think the U.S. economy will go into recession?
