        CPI Increased 0.6% in August, 3.7% Year over Year
        Gasoline was the largest contributor. Excluding food and energy, Core CPI went up only 0.3%
        The US CPI inflation rose to 3.7% in August, higher than the 3.6% expectation as per the BLS release Wednesday morning. Well below last summer’s peak reading of 9.1%, but it’s higher than last month’s reading of 3.2%. Core CPI only rose 0.3%, excluding food and energy pricing.
