What are the requirements to open an account?

To open an Individual Margin Account, Individual Cash Account or Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) with Moomoo Canada, you need to:

● Have a Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)

● Have a valid residential address* in Canada

● Have a valid mobile phone number

● Have a valid email address

● Be the age of majority* in your province or territory

 

To open a Registered Retirement Savings Plan account (RRSP) with Moomoo Canada, you need to:

● Have a Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)

● Have a valid residential address* in Canada

● Have a valid mobile phone number

● Have a valid personal email address

● Be the age of majority* in your province or territory

● Be younger than 71 years old

 

To open a Spousal Registered Retirement Savings Plan account (SRRSP) with Moomoo Canada, both the account holder and your spouse need:

● A Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)

● A valid residential address* in Canada

● A valid mobile phone number

● A valid personal email address

● Maritial Status is Married or Common Law Partner

● Be the age of majority* in your province or territory

● The account holder also needs to be younger than 71 years old

 

*Note:

  • A mailbox address is not considered a valid residential address. If the residential address provided does not match the residential address registered with a government institution, additional proof of address may be requested.   • Please refer to provincial and territorial regulations for the age of majority.

    • Provinces/territories where the age of majority is 18: Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

    • Provinces/territories where the age of majority is 19: British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and the Yukon.
