Recurring Investment FAQs

Q: What is the execution price for buying shares on the day of scheduled investments?
After a US stock Recurring Investment is set up, the system will place a market order at around 10:30 AM ET on the selected date. To limit the investment amount from being exceeded, the actual order amount is determined by multiplying the investment amount by a factor within the range of [0,1]. The actual number of shares ordered is calculated by dividing the actual order amount by the market price, rounded down to four decimal places. If it's not a trading day, the order will be rescheduled for the next trading day.
  • For example, Mr. Wang sets a monthly investment of $10 in AAPL. With a factor of 0.85 and AAPL's share price at $100, the order will be for 0.085 shares. So, a market order for 0.085 fractional shares of AAPL will be placed.

Note: If the remaining balance is not enough to buy one whole share, it will be used to invest in fractional shares.

Q: Why did my Recurring Investment buy 0 shares while my funds were sufficient?
The reason may be due to one of the following:
  • Illiquid market or extreme weather
  • Other extreme situations such as problems with an upstream service provider that can't be resolved immediately
Note: These events will not affect your upcoming scheduled investments in your Recurring Investment

Q: Will there be any charges if my Recurring Investment fails?
There will be no charge for a failed Recurring Investment.

Q: What do I need to be aware of when paying with my universal account?
Please make sure there are sufficient funds in your universal account on the execution date to avoid failure.
The Recurring Investment will be automatically cancelled after 3 consecutive failed investments due to insufficient purchasing power. You can set up the plan again and try again with sufficient funds on the execution date.

After a US stock Recurring Investment is set up, the system will place a market order at around 10:30 AM ET on the selected date. To limit the investment amount from being exceeded, the actual order amount is calculated by multiplying the investment amount by a factor (with a range of [0,1] and subject to adjustments as required).
